In a survey of dentists and oral surgeons across the United States, two-thirds of respondents (64%) said they would be likely to adopt opioid-free dentistry, and most respondents (88%) agreed that they have a direct role to play in combating the opioid crisis. The survey, aimed to uncover fundamental beliefs and assumptions guiding dentists in their decisions on patient pain relief, identifies opportunities to reinforce the norm of non-opioid pain management.
The survey of 242 U.S. dentists and oral surgeons was conducted by Hattaway Communications and was sponsored by The Benter Foundation. Click here for the findings.
